Adaptable to Real-world applications
SmartIssuerPro's modular, Object-Oriented software model makes SmartIssuerPro a versatile system – one that delivers performance in the real world, without giving up the flexibility to customize systems for different applications and implementations. The rules based system allows the creation of unique card products within shorter time frames
The 'intelligence', or device-specific systems, is kept as far from the software core as possible: this allows new modules to be created and for SmartIssuerPro subsystems to handle new technologies without ever compromising the overall system integrity, and to offer the shortest development turnaround available.
SmartIssuerPro Sub-modules
In addition to our CommLink and NTM technologies, which drive the system, SmartIssuerPro has several key modules to perform intelligent processing services.
SCD Subsystem: SCDSwitcher is the primary handling module for management of transactions originating on ATM Networks.
IDP Subsystem: Designed for handling the authorization of transactions originating on POS networks.
Downstream Switch Management:
DSASwitcher is a subsystem module designed to handle inbound traffic from switch/host applications which require a gateway to issuing systems.
Issuer Subsystem: Support for Financial Institution processing and Card Management and the bulk of SmartIssuerPro’s processing power.
Encryption Subsystem: Built-in support for several leading encryption systems, using various methods of communication.
DataXChange: The DataXChange subsystem is responsible for all logging, debugging and database management within SmartIssuerPro.
SCD Subsystem
SCDSwitcher is the primary handling module for management of transactions originating
on ATM Networks. Network handling objects are built following a common internal
specification, which allows SCDSwitcher to manage an unlimited number of network
connections without any specific knowledge of messaging formats or processing parameters.
Upon receiving a transaction request from the remote ATM network, SCDSwitcher will
determine the optimum processing route, based on user-defined preferences, and pass
the transaction to the corresponding Issuer object for processing. The transparency
of this processing model allows for rapid development of interfaces to different
authorization networks, as well as private or proprietary processing systems.
IDP Subsystem
Designed for handling the authorization of transactions originating on POS networks,
IDPSwitcher follows the same design principles as SCDSwitcher. While it usually
works alongside SCDSwitcher to handle inbound issuer traffic, IDPSwitcher is defined
as a separate subsystem to allow greater flexibility in system setup and scaling.
Downstream Switch
Management DSASwitcher is a subsystem module designed to handle
inbound traffic from switch/host applications which require a gateway to issuing
systems. Following the same transparency model as SmartIssuerPro’s other processing
modules, DSASwitcher is able to act as a Network Gateway for an unlimited number
of acquiring systems by ‘spoofing’ or simulating the network protocols expected
by the downstream system. This allows older, less flexible systems to be connected
to private banking/issuing networks without requiring the investment and risk of
new development, and allows you to seamlessly integrate your acquiring environment
with private Financial Institution support.
Issuer Subsystem
The bulk of SmartIssuerPro's
processing power lies in the Issuing subsystem – this module provides the support
for Financial Institution processing and Card Management. When transactions arrive
(from one of the network interfaces, such as SCDSwitcher or DSASwitcher), the Issuer
system determines the destination for the customer card (SmartIssuerPro’s flexibility
allows for a virtually limitless number of host institutions and cardfiles) and
pre-verifies the request against any number of configurable checks. If there is
a host or banking system online, SmartIssuerPro will forward the request for authorization.
If there is no live system available, or the host does not respond in time, SmartIssuerPro
will provide stand-in authorization using any combination of Positive and Negative
cardfiles.
Pre-verification and Stand-in validation methods may include PAN check
digits, presence of card record in database, Expiry date (either from the card or
card file), Account type, presence of Account record in database, Card/Account status
(OK, Lost/Stolen, On Hold, etc) and several other common requirements. Authorization
limits can be set for each Card, Account or transaction type, and can be applied
per-transaction, daily, weekly, or by any method required. PIN validation and balance
checking (with support for negative balances and credit limits) will all be performed
automatically, providing processor uptime presence under all circumstances. All
transactions processed in offline/stand-in mode will be posted to the host system
at the earliest opportunity. The Issuer subsystem also manages cardfile updates
and management through either a batch process, online trickle file or using a custom
standalone application.
SmartIssuerPro card management is an integrated customer
application and card issuing system. Processing of new card/account applications
includes a credit history (or security) check, and successful applications are seamlessly
delivered to a card embossing system for processing.
SmartIssuerPro interfaces with
industry-leading third party providers. The system allows for an interface, permitting
third-party websites to securely access card and account information.
Encryption Subsystem
SmartIssuerPro has built-in support for several leading encryption systems,
using various methods of communication. A transparent design allows for rapid development
of handler objects for new device types or connectivity methods when required, as
well as easy fault-tolerance and backup systems. A fully-featured software encryption
system provides a cost-effective, fully-functional testing environment. SmartIssuerPro’s
encryption system supports both On-Card and Stored PIN verification, with support
for a number of encoding methods.
DataXChange
The DataXChange subsystem is responsible
for all logging, debugging and database management within SmartIssuerPro. DataXChange
also manages all connectivity with network client programs used for system monitoring
and management.
