SmartConnect™ Port Manager (SCPortManager)
SCPortManager is the core of SmartConnect’s processing services - all communications traffic is routed through SCPortManager to host connections and device ports, which are maintained within the PortManager subsystem. All SmartConnect port handlers are designed with a common software interface, which allows SCPortManager to communicate with each port, regardless of type - this kind of software transparency gives us the freedom to develop new port types and modules quickly, as SCPortManager does not ever require modification. The most common port types handled by SCPortManager are the COM Port and the TCP/IP Port.
